The Wimbledon Park Project is a neighbourhood group, creating a community space in the unused car park adjacent well used playground and green space in the heart of Southsea. They negotiated a part of the car park to be used for the community. The residents gave us some of the function ideas they had, we created a brief and four architecture students from the RIBA Future Architects mentoring scheme provided their ideas for the project which were presented to the public at an event in the park on 9-10 July 2021.
The four architecture students are Gloria Hii, Ben Roe, Emma Hobson-White and Louis Mark and their fantastic ideas can be seen below:
